Boasting of a population of around 4,000, Garwood real estate is situated between the cities of Westfield and Cranford. Students in the area can attend Garwood Public Schools until eighth grade. Due to the areas size, they must switch to Arthur L. Johnson High School in the Clark Public School District when they start high school.

Since it is such a small town, Garwood has only a couple of different neighborhoods within its borders. In the Southside neighborhood, residents will find the Special Center Street District. This area boasts of quaint, elegantly designed homes and a convenient location. Each house is well-laid out and offers spacious interiors.

One of the newer developments in Garwood is known as the mews at Garwood. This real estate development has a total of 150 residential units and is surrounded by regional shopping areas, eateries and local boutiques.

Garwood, New Jersey is reasonably well-connected to many of the amenities in the surrounding area. Residents can reach the Richmond University Medical Center after just a 13 mile drive or head over to the Staten Island University Hospital. Since Garwood is an exclusive, secluded borough, it is not very well connected to public transportation options. If residents take a six mile drive, they can reach the Metropark. The Newark International Airport and Raymond Plaza West are located 8 and 11 miles away, respectively.

In their downtime, residents can attend one of the three different local churches. These churches include Saint Anne Church, Saint Paul’s United Church of Christ and the Garwood Presbyterian Church. The area also includes beautiful Unami Park and the Garwood Post Office.

Schools in the area include the Lincoln/Franklin School and the Washington School. College-aged students can attend the Union County College which is located just two miles away. Within a ten mile radius, residents will find Seton Hall University, Drew University, Kean University, the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
