Linden Real Estate

Linden city is located in the south western part of Union County, NJ, about 13 miles from Manhattan. Linden operates under a city form of government with a mayor and council members, which are elected from the wards.

New Jersey is one of the wealthiest states in the country and Linden is home to some affluent neighborhoods such as Dewitt on Raritan Rd, Saint Georges and Stiles Street.

The public school system serves students from kindergarten level through 12th grade. 2009 enrollment data shows that the city has 8 public elementary schools and renowned private schools, such as Saints Mary and Elizabeth Academy, which has students in Pre-K through 8th grade. Linden High School operates under the public school system with an enrollment of 1,888 as of 2010.

Interstate 95 passes through the western part of Linden and a few ramps lead to exit 13 on the outer limits near Elizabeth. The New Jersey transit provides transportation to Newark, Perth Amboy and Elizabeth with extra local service routes. The north Jersey coast line and the northwest corridor provide train service.

Arthur Kill, a straight located on the east side of the city acts as a major bulk cargo transportation channel connecting to the Port of New York. Linden was home to Linden Assembly, a General Motors plant, which operated from 1937 to 2005 and produced famous cars such as Pontiac and Oldsmobile. It also manufactured planes during the Second World War.

Some of the major companies located in Linden are Bayway Refinery, which supplies petroleum products to new NJ and NY. Merk & Co, a major pharmaceutical company. Some music companies, including Regal Records, Springboard International records and De Luxe Records are also located here.
