Rahway Real Estate

Rahway is a city located in southern New Jersey and is part of Union County. Rahway is just 5 miles west of Staten Island and 15 miles southwest of Manhattan and, therefore, part of the New York metropolitan area. Rahway city is bordered to the south by Woodbridge Township, which is part of Middlesex County. To the north, the city is bordered by Linden and Clark, with Linden to the northeast and Clark to the northwest.

Some of the more popular neighborhoods for people moving into the city are Cranford, Westfield and Clark, all offering cohesive communities with good security and multi ethnic populations.

There are about 10 parks in Rahway with the most famous park being Rahway River Park, which hosts a pool, picnic areas and several baseball fields. Rahway River cuts through Rahway from Clark and goes through Linden and Carteret before emptying into Arthur Kill.

Public schools in the city of Rahway are Madison school, Grover Cleveland School, Franklin school and Rahway high school. Public schools accept students in pre-K through 12th grade.

The train station serves the jersey coast line and northeast corridor. A significant part of old parking lot space has been transformed into residences and new buildings. A train ride from Rahway to Pennsylvania station in New York City takes about 40 minutes. Newark Liberty International Airport is just 10 miles north of Rahway – a 20 minute drive.

Downtown Rahway is home to many restaurants, art galleries, housing units and the Union County Performing Arts Center. Businesses who have their headquarters in Rahway, include Rahway Electric Motor Company, Regina Music Box Company, Wheatena, Mershon Bros. and Merck & Co.
